The inter-connectivity between Transport Management and the financial success of the Company is immense since a proper network optimization and transport network management helps in controlling and reducing transportation and supply chain costs which ultimately results in better profit margins for the organization, thereby resulting in financial success of the company. Hence the organization must always strive to look for ways to reduce its transportation and supply chain costs in order to gain finanicial success. For example, Amazon has deliberated a lot in optimization of its supply chain network by introducing the hub and spoke model to its supply chain network. The company has mother hubs or regional warehouses which connect with or supply to smaller warehouses locally from where the goods are transported to the customers through last mile delivery network. The company has also utilized milk run model to advance it's supply chain wherein the customers belongung to a particular region are being serviced through a common transportation vehicle which reduces the overall costs of the company by clubbing together deliveries of a particular region. Hence such initiatives have greatly reduced transportation cost of the company and helped it to achieve financial success.
