Now, the question is should we eat meat or not. Many animal rights activists are against the idea of killing animals for meat and also recommend to avoid meat on moral grounds. We will debate on this by taking a few references(names changed) from their ideas that they proposed and finally conclude. The survey was done by analyzing the statemets animal rights activists gave versus what other Philosopher and Religious Teachers gave. All these statements were recorded in a book called "Should we eat meat" and the book is kept in Sheridan College Library.

Animal Activist Mr. Jameson Noclonson had said that animals have a right to life and killing it for meat is immoral and shoud be avoided. Same was stated by many other animal rigts activists.

However there were many notable social and religious teachers and nutrition experts who were against the idea. Many had said that it was absolutely fine to eat meat. We will discuss what they said to justify their claims.

Nutrition Expert and Scientist Dr Tom Hanger had said that vegeterian sources of protein lacked Vitamin B12 and did not contain all essential amino acids. So we needed to eat meat to get complete protein and amino acids and B12 and that meat was also high in Iron as well as other vitamins and minerals needed for good health.

Dr Zakir Naik an Islamic preacher and televangelist had said that it was allowed in the Holy Quran(religious book for Muslims just like Bible) to eat meat and he argued that plants also had life. So if plants could be eaten, meat can also be eaten and that is what he argued. Besides he said that in the Holy Quaran it was written that one third of the meat should be given to the poor, one third to friends and relatives and the ramaining should be consumed by the person or family. So, if meat is so nutritious and can be shared with poor and friends then there is not problem in eating that.

Notable Scientist Dr Zion had said that meat can be consumed as nature had give us both pointed and flat teeth. So both vegetables and meat can be eaten. The flat teeth is used to grind vegetables and pointed for tearing meat. He also argued that we had both large and small intestines which can absorb both plants and meat. He also siad that plants also had feelings though can't express it.

So, looking at all the above statements we can conclude that both plants and animals have life and we cannot prefer one over the other on moral grounds. However, it is upto the person to choose whether he/she wants to go for vegetables or meat or both and meat cannot be forbidden just on moral grounds or just because animal activists are against it.
