Given:

n = 1056

x = 599

Confidence level = c = 90%

Part a) Find point estimate of population proportion:

\hat{p}=\frac{x}{n}

\hat{p}=\frac{599}{1056}

Part b) Margin of error:

E = Z_{c}\times \sqrt{\frac{\hat{p}\times (1-\hat{p})}{n}}

Zc is z critical value for c = 90% confidence level.

Find Area = ( 1 + c ) / 2 = ( 1 + 0.90) / 2 = 1.90 / 2 = 0.9500

Look in z table for Area = 0.9500 or its closest area and find corresponding z value.

Thus we look for both area and find both z values
