Answer #1

The very exclusive and special right of the US President and the members of the executive branch in the context of keeping confidentiality.

It even allows to not propagate information to Congress, public in general and the court.

This power also includes encroachments and search warrants.

It is reflected as the separation of power.

For example,- President George W. Bush had evoked executive privilege in the context of the then attorney general Janet Reno scandal regarding misusing the crime informants.

Bush had also gone with executive privilege in Pat Tillman's case who was a Army Ranger. Documents related to his death were not disclosed.
