Answer #1

Solution:

Given:

The correlation coefficient between time in minutes to run 30 meters and pulse rate at the end of the run is 0.72

that is: Corr(x,y) = r = 0.72

We have to find correlation coefficient if time is converted in hours.

Since correlation coefficient is unaffected by change of origin ( add or subtract a constant) and change of scale ( multiply or divide by a constant, in other words correlation coefficient is independent of change of origin and change of scale, so value of correlation coefficient will remain same.

Thus required answer is: 0.72
