Strategies to collect reliable weather information:

There are several methods by which upper air weather phenomena can be observed: radio sound observations, pilot weather reports (PIREPs), Aircraft Meteorological Data Relay (AMDAR) and the Meteorological Data Collection and Reporting System (MDCRS).

Using the upper described methods, the airport can collect the most accurate and reliable data related to the weather conditions. The data obtained from one method can be cross checked with that obtained from the use of other method.

If the weather is such that the take off point is secure, the weather of the route is secure and the weather of the destination is secure, then and then only the flight should adopt a ‘Go’ strategy. If the weather condition at any of the point is such that it would add to the risk over the flight then the flight should adopt No Go strategy.
