Answer #1

There are different types of interventions available from Gender Dysphoria .But the interventions need to be well planned and according to the individual's autonomy .

  • Puberty blockers- In this type of intervention A young person is given hormones to change the behavior of the person according to his or her natural gender . Males are given testosterone whereas women are given Estrogen. This suppresses the physical changes .
  • Hormone therapy - In this adult people use hormones to develop features or enhance the characteristics of the gender they feel they belong to .
  • Surgery - Sex reassignment surgery is also one of the option . In this indivduals change their sex according to what they feel .But these are not common.

There is one more intervention which is called transtion therapy but this is very controversial and considered unethical. It is against the non-binary nature of gender and often people are froced to fd this agianst there will .

Ethical considerations

  • Autonomy of the individual is very important .
  • Informed consent
  • Confidentiality is also one of the important things in the intervention process.
  • Beneficence and non maleficence are also very important .
