Using this definition, they derive two general rules, one of which is that the efficient level of pollution is not generally zero. Briefly explain why this is true. Can you think of a fund pollutant for which this might not be the case, i.e., a pollutant for which zero is the efficient level of pollution?

Basically the fiund pollutant are those for which the ecosystem or envt. has the absorptive capacity ( moderate ) It do not do any damage to the envt. untill the rate of emission exceeds the receieving absoptive capacity of the envt. This is true that efficient level of pollution cannot be zero in general Because considering the practical points of view regarding pollution for example let us take carbon dioxide which is a fund pollutant and is absorbed by the plants and oceans .It efficient cannot be zero because this is important for the survival of plant and ultimately human ( via oxygen they provide ) Therefore this is true Also .If we do not take economic considerations the socially optimal level of pollution would be zero. the main reason is that there is no pollution that would represent no cost to society. The envt pollute itself for its existence.No i am not able to think any kind of pollutant for which zero is the efficient level of pollution .
