Answer #1

Centralized DBMS:

A centralized database has a single server that manages the data.

This has various small data centers that are present at various locations.

These data centers collect the data and send it to the main centralized server.

Then it processes the data and stores it.

The local servers or the servers in data centers can get the data from the centralized server when needed.

Example:

Banking systems

Distributed DBMS:

Unlike the centralized system, the distributed DBMS does not have a central system to respond to the requests.

Rather than depending on the central servers, each node or the system can decide by itself and perform operations.

The chances of system failures are low.

Example:

World wide web

Mobile database

Which one?

A centralised system offers the client server architecture type.

A distributed system has all the systems and components independent and produces its own decisions.

This eliminates the dependency on other systems.

So the distributed systems are widely used in many organizations.
