Personality disorders are long-term sequence of  behaviors and inner perceptions that vary significantly from what is expected. The pattern of experience and behavior starts with late adolescence or early adulthood, and causes anxiety or functional problems. The pattern of experience and behavior begins in late adolescence or early adulthood and causes anxiety or functional problems. Personality disorders are classified into three clusters.Most individuals with one personality disorder have at least one other personality disorder with signs and symptoms as well. It is not necessary to have all symptoms to be diagnosed with the disorder.

Cluster A :  Cluster A personality disorders are characterized by odd, eccentric thinking or behavior. They include Paranoid personality disorder, Schizoid personality disorder and Schizotypal personality disorder. Symptoms include aggressive and hostility, recurrent suspicion about the people around[spouse], trust issues, social anxiety etc.

Cluster B: Cluster B personality disorders are characterized by dramatic thought or action which is excessively emotional or unpredictable. These include Antisocial personality disorder, Borderline personality disorder, Histrionic personality disorder, and Narcissistic personality disorder. The people with cluster B finds it hard to control their emotions leading others to think of them as eccentric.

Cluster C: The people in cluster C personality disorder expresses strong feelings of fear and anxiety and are characterized by their fearful thinking and behavior .They include avoidant personality disorder, dependent personality disorder and obsessive-compulsive personality disorder.

The symptoms of personality disorder varies from acute characterstics such as lack of interest or indifference to severe symptoms such as suicidal behavior or self injury. The treatment for personality disorders include Cognitive behavioral therapy[CBT], Therapeutic communities,medications etc.The cause of personality disorders is still unknown. Factors like abusive childhood and neglect are seen to possess the risk of triggering personality disorders.

Adjustment disorders can affect children and adults alike. These conditions are treated with medicine, therapy or a combination of both. Usually, you can recover quickly from an adjustment disorder using help. Usually the condition does not last for longer than six months, unless the stressor continues.
