3. You have been assigned the task of completing the chemical reaction engineering part of the design for a reactor capable of producing 3000 kg per week of tert-butanol from the hydrolysis of tert-butyl bromide. The reaction proceeds via an Sn1 mechanism and has k 1.13 x 10-2 min-1 at the intended reaction temperature. For operational reasons, the process will need to accept a feed of 40.1 g/L of tert-butyl bromide and 440 g/L of water dissolved in acetone. A conversion of at least 0.80 must be achieved. A 3KL CSTR is already available for this process and your technical director wants to use this reactor in conjunction with a new tubular reactor. Write a short report (200 words, typed) to your technical director outlining the appropriate design for this process and include your calculations as an appendix to this report (hand-written calculations and hand-drawn diagrams are acceptable in the appendix).
