Answer #1

14) Answer- Functional group for the following organic families-

Alkene- In alkene, carbon=carbon double bond is the functional group. In any reaction, the bond is broken and a new bond is created. a new compound is formed. so carbon-carbon double bond is the functional group present in alkene. Empirical formula of alkene is CnH2n.

Alkane- In alkane, actually no functional group is present. But, sometimes it is considered that carbon-carbon single bond is the functional group of alkane. Empirical formula of alkane is CnH2n+2

Alkyne- Alkynes are organic molecules made of the functional group carbon-carbon triple bond and are written in the empirical formula of CnH2n-2.

17) Answer-

HCl is a strong acid.

SO,

PH = -log[H+]

-log(0.02) = 1.7

    10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...
