Answer #1

1.
Beginning Finished Goods = $180000 x 70% = $126,000

2.
Beginning Direct Materials = $30000 / 1.25 = $24,000

3.
Beginning Work in Process = $180000 - 126000 - 24000 = $30,000

4.
Cost of Goods Sold = $531000 / 2 = $265,500

5.
Cost of Goods Manufactured = $265500 + 41000 - 126000 = $180,500

6.
Total Manufacturing Costs incurred = $180500 + 21000 - 30000 = $171,500
Direct Material Used = $171500 - 24000 - 24000 x 200% = $99,500

7.
Purchases = $99500 + 30000 - 24000 = $105,500

8.
Direct Labor = $24,000

9.
Overhead applied = $24000 x 200% = $48,000
