Answer #1

Answer :-

Production of Red oak handle carving knife = 344

Production of Walnut handle carving knife = 172

Weighted Average Units = (344*2) +(172*1)

Weighted Average Units = 688 + 172

Weighted Average Units = 860

Joint cost allocated to Red oak handle carving knife = ($5,000/860)*688 = $4,000

Joint cost allocated to Walnut handle carving knife = ($5,000/860)*172 = $1,000

Total = $4,000 + $1,000 = $5,000
