TREASURY SHARES

The enterprise issuing shares repurchased the stock or shares from its existing stockholders are called treasury shares. These bought back shares termed as treasury shares can be sold by company in future or can retire the shares permanently.

Treasury shares are reported as contra equity account and same are deducted from total outstanding shares.

They do not hold any voting right and does not receive any dividends
