The correct answer is Option C - Cost is allocated first to intermediate cost pools and from these pools to cost objects. The two stage allocation system first allocates the costs to various departments . In the scond stage it allocates the costs to various activities within the department. As such, this is the correct answer.

Option A and Option B are incorrect as it does not refer to the number of pools or objects.

Option D is incorrect as all the options are not true.

Option E is incorrect as we have the answer at Option A.
