Manufacturing cost is the sum of costs of all resources consumed in the process of making a product.

Total manufactring cost consist of following elements:

1.Direct Material: These are raw materials which are converted into finished goods.

2.Direct Labour: Cost of labour which are engaged in the process of manufacturing

3.Direct Overhead: Costs that are incurred during the production process, regardless of the output that the company produces.

Thus,

Total Manufacturing Cost = Direct Material + Direct Labor + Direct Overhead.
