Question 1:-

The correct answer for the question is Option B - No. Michael would be ineligible to file as a Head of the Household status for the tax year. Michael fails to satisfy the below conditions because of which he would be ineligible to file as a Head of Household.

a.) Justin (Michael's son) cannot be claimed as a dependent because he has earned income by himself during the year and hence Michael will not be able to claim Justin as a dependent.

While Michael has satisfied other requirements like the marital status and cost of home upkeep during the year, since there is no qualifying dependent, Michael will not be able to file as a Head of Household during the year.
