As per the given case, only one exemption is allowed fot their daughter Emma as a qualifying child but no exemption for Harriet.

As, Harriet is neither their qualifying child nor their relative, also sheri and jake have not legally adopted her.

On just the basis of the caring for providing support, Sheri and Jake cant claim for exemption for Harriet.
