a) Working capital= Current assets-Current liabilities

Target= $18240-12000= $6240

Wal-Mart= $40700-55000= $-14300

b) Current ratio= Current assets/Current liabilities

Target= $18240/12000= 1.52

Wal-Mart= $40700/55000= 0.74

c) Debt to assets ratio= Total debts/Total assets

Target= ($12000+22468)/49240= 70%

Wal-Mart= ($55000+42774)/157700= 62%

d) Free cash flow= Net cash provided by operating activities-Cash paid for capital expenditures-Dividend declared and paid on common stock

Target= $4700-3500-550= $650

Wal-Mart= $23600-12000-3400= $8200

e) Earnings per share= (Net income-Preferred dividend)/Weighted average common shares outstanding
