Answer #1

In the above question, the data given is number of copies in each month and total cost of copy in each month.

Highest activity level is 71,000 in August and lowest activity level is 42,000 in February.

Highest total copy cost is $ 7,300 and lowest total copy cost is $ 4,400.

Under high low method,

Variable cost per unit = (highest activity cost - lowest activity cost) /(highest activity units - lowest activity units)

Variable cost per unit = ( 7,300-4,400)/(71,000-42,000)

Variable cost per unit = 2,900/29,000

Variable cost per unit = 0.10 per copy.

SUMMARY:

Highest activity level = 71,000 in August.

Highest total copy cost = $ 7,300.

Lowesr activity level = 42,000 in February.

Lowesr total copy cost = $ 4,400.

Variable cost per copy = $ 0.10 per copy.
