The test-statistic is :

where, n = 16

t has to be atleast 1.96 for correlation to be statistically significant.

1.96 = r*sqrt(n-2)/sqrt(1-r^2)

Squaring both sides we get;

(1.96^2) = r^2(n-2)/(1-r^2)

3.841459 = r^2*(16-2)/(1-r^2)

(1-r^2)/r^2 = 14/3.841459

1 = 4.6444*r^2

r^2 = (1/4.6444)

r = 0.464

Now, the r has to be above atleast above this value for it to be statistically significant. So, r = 0.468
