    3. (iii) What is the probability it would be store with a %Change in the range “4.0 to < 5.0” or a Strip store?

    4. (iv) What is the probability it would have a %Change in the range “4.0 to < 5.0” if you knew it was a Strip store?

  3. Are “%Change” and “Location” independent or dependent?

    (i) What do we mean by “independent” and “dependent"? Explain in the context of this problem, including why it would be useful to know one way or the other.

    (ii) Use the tables above to explain whether or not you think the two variables are independent. Provide useful results to illustrate your conclusion.

= ( Total of row '4.0 to < 5.0 + Total of column 'strip' ) / 150

= (71 + 51) / 150

= 122 / 150

= 0.4467 or 81.33 %
