1. The electron beams have a finite range after which dose falls of rapidly. Therefore they do not affect the deeper healthy tissues.The depth can be selected by an appropriate energy.

2.There is no sparing effect as in the case of photon beam so the electron beams are used when the target extends to the patients skin.

Therefore it is useful for treating superficial tumours.
