Change the Account class so that funds can be moved from one account to another. Create a method, ‌public boolean transfer(Account acct1, double amt){ boolean code = false; ‌ return code; } ‌ Think of this as withdrawing money from one account and depositing it into another. If the transfer is successful, return "true". Change the main method of the Banking class to show this new service.

Answer #1

Here is the completed code for this method. Comments are included, go through it, learn how things work and let me know if you have any doubts or if you need anything to change. If you are satisfied with the solution, please rate the answer. If not, PLEASE let me know before you rate, I’ll help you fix whatever issues. Thanks

Note: Since you did not provide the existing Account class, I can’t know the exact method names or signatures. So this method is purely based on my assumptions. Assuming Account class has a getBalance() method that returns the balance, withdraw() method that withdraws certain amount, and deposit() method which deposit some amount, and assuming all these functions work correctly.

If any of my assumption is wrong, the code won’t work correctly, in which case you will need to provide the code for Account class so I can update this correctly. Also with the same reason, I cannot modify the main method, because it is not given.

//required method, copy this into your Account class

public boolean transfer(Account acct1, double amt){

      boolean code = false;

      //checking if there is enough balance to transfer and the amount

      //is valid‌

      if(amt>=0 && getBalance()>=amt){

            //withdrawing amt from this account

            withdraw(amt);

            //depositing to acct1

            acct1.deposit(amt);

            //changing status code to indicate success

            code=true;

      }

      return code;

}
