Answer #1

Electron domain geometry has three bonded atoms and one lone pair around the central atom:

The correct answer is tetrahedral.

Explanation:

1) According to VSEPR(Valence Shell Electron-Pair Repulsion) theory when the electron domain geometry has three bonded atoms and one lone pair around the central atom, it has four different geometrical axes which are known to us as a tetrahedral geometry.

2) The above structure is possible if the total 4 bond is present in a particular structure. But according to the question, there is one lone pair present in the structure instead of a bond.

Hence, in more accurately the structure should be trigonal pyramidal ( Molecular geometry ).

3) Bond angle should be less than 109.50

4) Example: NH3 , NF3 , PCl3 etc.
