How are retailers using in-store clinics in their marketing to consumers on the basis of lifestyle?

They are marketing to adults who have busy schedules or the stay at home moms. These consumers can shop while they wait to be seen by a practitioner. This is crucial to these on goers because they are so busy that thy cannot wait at a minute clinic or emergency room. Better yet it is way cheaper than going to one of those places as well.

What consumer values are represented by the growth in demand for in-store medical clinics during recent years?

The values that are represented of the demand for the in-store clinics are affordability and accessibility. These consumers have busy schedules and are looking to kill two birds with one stone while also saying money in their pocket. These in store clinics are hitting all the values that the consumer wants and needs.

Develop a means-end chain for an in-store medical clinic. What attributes are associated with the values you have identified?

In store clinic is the brand. The attribute would be Accessibility. This meaning that the places are easy and convenient to go to. The functional consequence would be quick and affordable care. The reason being is that wallgreens, CVS, and big-name grocery stores are right down the road and they value saving the average consumer money and time. The psychosocial consequence would be I feel like I saved time. The reason being is the fact that these consumers are busy. Stay at home moms can shop and take care of the home while getting his or her child the heath care that they need. The value that it then represents is health. They can get the heath that they need while releasing pressure off the persons shoulders!

How might personality characteristics such as dogmatism and frugality apply to consumers’ interest in and use of in-store medical clinics?

Dogmatism:

Dogmatism is the resistance of a consumer to a change in any product or idea. A dogmatic consumer would not accept new concepts easily.

Frugality:

Frugality is a behavior of a consumer to be less materialistic and utilize the resources effectively. The consumer of walk-in clinics would be the one who is looking for low cost treatment as well as changes in the concept of clinics. A consumer may resist accepting this sudden innovation in health care practice. Therefore such consumers would be less dogmatic and more frugal in nature.
