u1 = 10 m/s

Apply conservation of momentum


m1*u1 + m2*u2 = (m1 + m2)*v

50*10 + 0 = (50 + 20)*v

==> v = 500/70

= 7.14 m/s

d) Apply conservation of energy

(m1 + m2)*g*h + (1/2)*(m1 + m2)*v^2 = (1/2)*k*x^2

(50 + 20)*9.8*h + (1/2)*(50 + 20)*7.14^2 = (1/2)*20000*1.03^2

==> h = 12.9 m
