Answer #1

newly developing environment friendlily energy conversion technologies

  1. Solar
  2. wind
  3. biomass
  4. hydroelectric plant
  5. geothermal
  6. tidal energy

Concept used in these technology

Solar

solar power is created by converting sunlight into electricity. The most commonways this occurs is via the installation and use of photovoltaic panels in areas that catch a lot of rays or via concentrated solar power systems.

wind

the power of the wind is being harnessed to generate electricity, using massive, tri-bladed, horizontal-axis turbines that stand on towers. Harnessing power from the wind is one of the cleanest and most sustainable ways to generate electricity.

biomass

Derived from organic materials like plant waste and animal body or waste, biomass releases energy when it is burned. Among the general sources for producing biomass power are: wood and forest residues, non-toxic waste ,some crop resdiues. These things are burned in biomass power plants to produce steam, then steam triggers a turbine that produces electricity.

hydroelectric plant

it will callect the water with the help of dams and this water store energyin potenticial form then the water is release by the dam. water is falling downwards, like a waterfall, or flowing like a stream.Water passing through the turbines causes them to spin, which sets of the generators that then convert the kinetic energy into electricity.

geothermal

geothermal power plant (known as hydrothermal plants) are located near geologic “hot spots” where hot molten rock called magma is close to the earth’s crust and produces hot water or steam.this water or steam go to the turbine and turbine connect with genrater so it will convert into elecricity.

tidal energy

turbines are placed in dams. The dam gates are open as the tide rises and close when the dam is full, capturing an excess of water that is then run through the turbines.

the most sutable technology for Oman

Solar Energy
Oman has one of the highest solar densities in the world. Solar energy has even the potential to provide sufficient electricity to meet all of Oman’s national electricity demand. So far, solar energy is only used on private roofs to heat up water and in the oil production industry.
Wind Energy
Oman has significant wind energy potentials in coastal areas in the South and in the mountains situated north of Salalah. The highest wind speeds have been identified in the Dhofar Mountain Chain which is north of Salalah. The North and Western parts of Oman are the low wind speed areas. During the summer time, which is the peak period of electricity demand in Oman, the highest wind energy speeds were observed.
