mass of scaffold , m1 = 150 kg

mass of man , m2 = 30 kg

mass of bucket , m3 = 2 kg

length of scaffold , l = 5 m

let the tension in the right side cable be Tr

taking moment of force about the left side

Tr * l - m1 * g * (l/2) - m2 * g * 1 - m3 * g * ( 5 - 2) = 0

Tr * 5 = (150 * 5/2 + 30 * 1 + 2 * 3) * 9.81

Tr = 806.4 N

the tension in the right side cable is 806.4 N

equating the forces vertically

the tension in the left side cable , Tl = (m1 + m2 + m3) * g - Tr

Tl = (150 + 30 + 2) * 9.81 - 806.4 N

Tl = 979.02 N
