Null hypothesis: H₀: In class activities do not significantly improved students’ learning compared to traditional lecture only teaching method.

Alternative hypothesis: H_a: In class activities significantly improved students’ learning compared to traditional lecture only teaching method.

H₀: µ_d = 0 versus H_a: µ_d > 0

Test statistic for paired t test is given as below:

t = (Dbar - µ_d)/[S_d/sqrt(n)]

From given data, we have

Dbar = 5.6

S_d = 5.18

n = 10

df = n – 1 = 9

We assume α = 0.05

t = (5.6 – 0) / [5.18/sqrt(10)]
