This problem will be solved using formula for “Combinations”. To calculate combinations, we will use the formula nCr = n! / r! * (n - r)!, where n represents the number of items, and r represents the number of items being chosen at a time.

In the given case :

N = Number of sources = 5

R = Number of destinations = 3

Therefore , possible number of shipping lanes

= 5C3

= 5! / 3! x ( 5 – 3)!

= 5!/3! X2!

= 4 x 5/2

= 10

Number of shipping lanes = 10
