Answer #1

Mass of sucrose = 45.2 g.

Molar mass of sucrose = 342.3 g/mol

Moles of sucrose = mass / molar mass = 45.2 / 342.3 = 0.132 mol

Weight of solvent = 155 g. = 0.155 kg

Molality = moles of solute / weight of solvent in kg = 0.132 / 0.155 = 0.852 mol/kg

Kb = 0.512 degree C/m

Boiling point of water = 100 degree C

Elevation in boiling point = Kb X m

Tb - T0 = 0.512 X 0.852

Tb - 100 = 0.436

Tb = 0.436 + 100

Tb = 100.436

Tb = Boiling poing of solution = 100.436 degree C

(C) 100.44 degree C
