IT organizational code of ethics and policy on corporate and social responsibility:

Ethics are nothing but the values, norms and behaviour of the organisation towards the external environment in which it operates. IT organisation that uses the various resources of the society are supposed to give back to the stakeholders of the society including its employees, customers, suppliers and local community.

The ethical aspects that surround the CSR activities of the IT organisations are that the IT industries are not supposed to indulge it in using the marketing tactics for its product and services while performing or in the name of performing the CSR activity. IT companies should not conduct business through its CSR activities for example if one of the IT company has donated the school for raising the educational percentage of the society, then that IT industry should not generate profits from that school. IT industry should not conduct CSR activities merely for complying to the regulations imposed by the local government; but it should perform those activities by considering it as their responsibility towards the society.

How will you create a stronger ethical climate in the workplace?

Stronger ethical climate in the workplace can be created by providing training to the employees of the company. The management of the company should also get involve in practising the ethical codes and conducts. Employees who strictly adhere to the ethical codes of the company while performing their tasks should be rewarded and should be provided with the recognition by the management of the company.

Are there training programs in development?

Organisation conducts several training program for the employees in order to make them aware with the ethical codes. Organisation also trains the employees for the implementation of these ethical codes and standards.

What types of rewards are provided for ethical behaviour?

Generally, organisation provides the non monetary reward for the ethical behaviour such as presenting the memento of the best employee of the year for performing the tasks with high ethical standards. These non monetary recognitions add some points in the performance appraisal mechanism of the employee.

What protections can be provided for whistle-blowers?

The identity of the whistle – blower should be kept completely confidential and their names should not be mentioned anywhere while analysing and solving the issues raised by them i.e. they should be provided with the right of anonymity.

What has your company done to promote CSR and how will the employees know?

Our company conducts the tree plantation drive round the year in the locality where it is established. Moreover, our company provides basic education to the needy section of the society without charging them a single amount. For the employees, company provides insurance plans for their and their family’s health issues. These CSR activities are promoted among the employees through the emails sent by the management of the company to each and every employee. The company also display banners in every department briefing about the CSR activities and its benefits for all the stakeholders. Prior to the implementation, management of the company conducts a meeting where it allots specific role to each and every employee of the CSR activity.

How do you avoid burnout for you or your employees during the COV ID 19 pandemic?

Burnout or the relentless overwork has raised the situation of stress among the employees working from home. This problem can be overcome by properly scheduling the tasks among the available employees. Various employees and their associated tasks should be identified along with the time required to perform these tasks. The identified tasks should then be equally distributed among the employees. Moreover, for each task, a standby employee should be kept so that in the situation of stress for an employee, other employee can take over the task.
