Provide an example when you have utilized one of the types of power to accomplish something through other people.

There are five types of power which generally people use to accomplish something through other people –

• Referent power is based on follower’s recognition and liking for the leader.
• Expert power is based on follower’s perceptions of the leader’s ability.
• Legitimate power is associated with the formal job authority of the leader.
• Reward power comes from the capacity to give rewards to others.
• Coercive power comes from the ability to penalize or punish to others.

I have used expert power which is the personal power and comes from personal attributes like expert or knowledge in some area. I have utilized this power to accomplish right investment strategy for corporate funds from my subordinates and succeeded because they were having trust on my knowledge and ability to tackle such issues.
