Q - 1

Area required for 5 MW = 50 km2 of land

Hence, area required for 20 MW, A = 20 x 50 / 5 = 200 km2

Cost of construction per km2 in 2010 = C0 = 5,000

Index in 2010, I0 = 1,850

Index in 2020, I1 = 2,450

Size factor, S = 0.75

Hence, the cost of constructing in 2020 = A x S x C0 x I1 / I0 = 200 x 0.75 x 5,000 x 2,450 / 1,850 = $  993,243
