Answer #1

4.

(c)

K2CO3 + BaCl2\rightarrow KCl + BaCO3

Balancing the equation, we get

K2CO3 + BaCl2\rightarrow 2KCl + BaCO3

Four relevant ions are Ba+2, Cl-, K+ and CO3-2

Two products will be BaCO3(s) and KCl(aq)

BaCl2 + K2CO3 \rightarrow BaCO3 + 2KCl

BaCl2(aq) + K2CO3(aq) \rightarrow BaCO3(s) + 2KCl(aq) the barium carbonate is the precipitate

Ba+2 + 2Cl- + 2K+ + CO3-2\rightarrow BaCO3 + 2K+ + 2Cl-

Ba+2(aq) + CO3-2(aq) \rightarrow BaCO3(s)

(d)

NaOH + H3PO4\rightarrow Na3PO4 + 3 H2O

Balancing each atoms on both sides, we get the balanced equation as

3NaOH(aq) + H3PO4(aq) \rightarrow Na3PO4(aq) + 3 H2O(l)

3Na+(aq) + 3OH-(aq) + 3H+(aq) + PO43-(aq) \rightarrow 3Na+(aq) + PO43-(aq)  + 3 H2O (l)

3OH-(aq)  + 3H+(aq)  \rightarrow  3 H2O(l)

OH-(aq)  + H+(aq) \rightarrow  H2O(l)
