A thin uniform wooden ruler (mass 7.17 kg, length 40.9 cm) lies on a frictionless, horizontal table. This ruler is not pinned (so when it is hit, it rotates about its center of mass). A 211 g block of wood slides across the table, at right angles to the ruler, at 32.8 m/s. The wood hits the free end of the ruler inelastically (but the collision is not totally inelastic)- the block simply hits and stops. The ruler now rotates and translates. Find ω, the angular speed of the ruler after the collision, in rad/s.
