TV series- Grey’s Anatomy:

1. Ethos: Grey’s Anatomy establishes ethos primarily through the characters and their roles. Majority of the characters are good looking, young and motivated. They are shown to handle personal and professional struggles on a daily basis that makes them appear skilled. The environment of a hospital setting further accentuates their appearance of professionalism and trustworthiness.

2. Pathos: The show appeals mostly to interpersonal relationships between family members, friends and romantic partners. Emotional struggles with respect to death and disease are also frequently shown. These feelings being common to human experience makes it easier for the audience to relate to and identify with the characters.

3. Logos: The show appeals to logos through the proposed explanation and treatment given for many of the ailments that the characters are required to address. Time is devoted in the series to discus the medical procedures that would be fitting to treat an ailment, usually through a discussion with other characters.
