There are two appliances in kitchen

Now in our house all the appliances are connect in parallel

Therefore this two appliances are also connect in parallel

Hence in parallel circuit voltage is always same across each appliances but the current is different across both the appliances .

Now the current through the blender I1 = 10.5 A

The current through the microwave oven I2 = 8.8A

Hence the total current in the circuit is

I = I1 + I2 = 10.5 +8.8 = 19.3 A

Hence E is correct answer

b) now if both of these appliances running for time t=2.5 minutes

t = 2.5 *60 sec

Now the power required fir circuit is

P= VI

P = 120*19.3 = 2316 W

Now the energy required is

E = P*t

E = 2316 *2.5*60

E = 347400 J

E = 347.4 KJ

Hence energy approx will be

E = 347 KJ

Hence d is an answer
