(a) A single spool (shaft) of gas turbine of 40mm shaft diameter operating at 12000 rpm will require one deep groove ball bearing to handle thrust & radial load and one straight roller bearing to handle only radial load.
(b) Due to high heat generation in turbocharger a turbocharger of 10 mm shaft diameter operating at 150000 rpm will require high heat resistant ceramic ball bearing.
(c) A photocopier roller with spindle diameter 10 mm operating at 150 rpm will require Deep Groove Ball Bearing.
(d) A ship's propeller shaft operating at 1500 rpm will require shoe type thrust bearing.
