identify functional groups, Experimental peaks and Literature peaks of 2 naphthol
Infrared (IR) spectroscopy is mainly used to detect the functional groups present in the compound under study.
In the case of 1-naphthol, the main functional group present is hydroxyl (OH) group and aromatic group.
In the IR spectrum of 1-naphthol (both in experimental and thereotical) a broad peak at around 3200 cm-1 is due to O-H stretching frequency peak.
Peak around 3000 cm-1 is due to aromatic C-H stretching frequency peak.
Peaks around 1400-1600 is due to aromatic C=C stretching frequency peaks.
