Answer #1

Answer

Given that the sample proportion is p(hat) = 25/100 = 0.25

sample size n = 140

z critical for 95% confidence interval is 1.96

Confidence interval =

P 2 * ((1-P) *P)/n = 0.25 +1.96 * ((1 -0.25) * 0.25)/140 = 0.25 + 1.96 * 0.0366 = (0.1783, 0.3217)

Required 95% confidence interval for the population proportion is (0.1783,0.3217)

A patient is classified as having gestational diabetes if their average glucose level is above 140 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dl) one hour after a sugary drink is ingested. Rebecca's doctor is concerned that she may suffer from gestational diabetes. There is variation both in the actual glucose level and in the blood test that measures the level. NORMAL PROBABILITY DISTRIBUTION Medicine: Blood Glucose: A person's blood glucose level and diabetes are closely related. Let x be a random variable measured in milligrams of glucose per deciliter (1/10 of a liter) of blood. After a 12-hour fast, the random variable x will have a distribution that is approximately normal with mean= 85 and standard deviation= 25. Note: After 50 years of age, both the mean and standard deviation tend to increase. What is the probability that, for an...

You are conducting a study among diabetic patients to see which type of exercise may benefit their blood glucose levels the most. You will split your patients in to 3 groups (cardio, cardio + weights, and control/no exercise) and after the intervention measure their blood glucose levels and compare the average glucose level between the 3 groups. Which statistical analysis is best suited for the scenario? Select one: Independent t-test Paired t-test One sample t-test ANOVA
