Zenith is defined as the point in the space that is directly above observer's head

1. So to see my zenith I would look straight up towards my head.

2. The celestial equator passes the zenith at the equator. So, I have to stand at the equator for the celestial equator to pass through the zenith.

3. The celestial poles meet the zenith at the south and north poles. So, for south celestial pole to meet the zenith we have to be at South pole.
