The value of q is = 2.30 10-6C.

A)

The electric potential at the lower left corner of the square, due to the three charges is given by

V =kq/L+2kq/L-3kq/Sqrt(2L2)

=kq[1/L+2/L-3/Sqrt(2)L]

=9*109*2.30 10-6 C*[3/0.5-3/1.414*0.5]

=9*109*2.30 10-6 C*[6-4.243]=77.769*103V =7.7769*104V/C

b)

The electric potential at the center of the square, due to the three charges is

V =kq/L+2kq/L-3kq/Sqrt(2L2)

=kq[1/L+2/L-3/Sqrt(2)L]

= 0
