NBER defines recession as the significant decline in the economy of the country which can be viewed in GDP, unemployment rate etc. According to the definition Venezuela recession can be clearly seen in the decrease in GDp as well as the currency value where the recession lasts for years together and this gets to reduce the GDP I'm the current recession by 10 percent making it the worst economy of all time
Also the currency value of the country is currently decreased highly and this is the same with the case since 1960s where the country is currently nearing a break even point where it could no longer pay its debts on the whole.
