3.

Miller Company
Contribution Income Statement
Total Per Unit
Sales ( 39,480 units ) $402,696 $10.20
Variable expenses $236,880 $6.00
Contribution margin $165,816 $4.20
Fixed expenses $54,000
Net operating Income $111,816

Sales units = 42,000 - 6% = 39,480 units.
Selling price = $9 per unit + $1.20 per unit = $10.20 per unit.
Fixed expenses = $47,000 + $7,000 = $54,000.
Variable expenses = $6 per unit ( it will remain the same as before).

4.

Miller Company
Contribution Income Statement
Total Per Unit
Sales ( 38,220 units ) $412,776 $10.80
Variable expenses $244,608 $6.40
Contribution margin $168,168 $4.40
Fixed expenses $47,000
Net operating Income $121,168

Sales units = 42,000 units - 9% = 38,220 units.
Selling price per unit = $9 per unit + 20% = $10.80 per unit.
Variable expenses per unit = $6 + $0.40 = $6.40 per unit.
