2. Figure 2 displays two extended linear objects aligned along the same axis. One object is a semi-infinite insulating line charged with the uniform linear charge density λ. The other is an insulating uniformly charged thin rod. Rod’s total charge is Q and length 2a. The distance from rod’s center to the end of the semi-infinite line is r. Find the electric force F exerted on the rod as a function of the given parameters. (Of course, the vector of force here is directed along the system axis and F therefore refers to this only non-zero component.)
