A researcher wishes to test the claim that the average number of Apple iPad sold per week is different than the average number of Samsung Galaxy Tab sold per week in a local wireless store. Now a random sample of n=12 weeks is selected for both tablets and the test value is t_{obs}=-1.86 where under null hypothesis t\sim t_{n-1} \ or \ t_{11}

So now for the observed value the p-value be, (since here the alternative hypothesis is both tailed as mentioned the average number of Apple iPad sold per week is different than the average number of Samsung Galaxy Tab sold per week in a local wireless store, actually here we are testing the difference of mean)

p-value=2P[t>|t_{obs}|]=2P[t>1.86]=0.0898

Since 0.10>P-value=0.0898>0.05, so we do not reject null hypothesis.

Hence the answer...............
