Answer #1

Hong Kong is a small, densely populated territory with a large consumption of electricity. In last couple of years electricity in Hong Kong is almost doubled as they invested in gas generation plant and replaced coal with expensive gas. Earlier lot of people don't actually understand the potential of renewable energy. Hong Kong's climatic condition is not entirely sufficient to generate energy. Only one-third of the city can be powered by renewable energy. The technology has improved a lot over the years. Now the government is actively promoting solar power. The main objective of the government is to protect environment and reduce air pollution. Hong Kong government has implemented a number of control measures on power sector emissions. They have prohibited the installation of coal-fired power plants. The government has also set emission targets for power producers.
